Terms and Conditions

Casa Murguia is an exclusive Oaxaca home featured in Melba Levick's “In a Mexican Garden: Courtyards, Pools and Open Air Living Rooms”.

Checking In: Our office hours are 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Central Time, Monday-Friday. You can call us from the USA/Canada at 1-310-xxx-xxxx. Check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am. Luggage can be securely held at Casa Murguia prior to check-in or after check-out according to your travel schedule.; Upon arrival, you will be met by a member of staff who will give you a walk-through/orientation of your rental suite and the property, plus the keys to your unit. Please do not lose the keys as there is a charge for duplicate keys and letting you back in.; A Rental Agreement will be executed between you and Casa Murguia during your check-in process. All of Casa Murguia's terms and conditions presented herein are documented in the Rental Agreement.

Checking Out: Please leave the suite, patio, and pool area as you found it. Please empty the refrigerator before your departure.

Rental Period/Reservations: Casa Murguia’s minimum rental period is for a one week stay (6 nights/7 days).; Short-term rentals are for a period of one week to one month. Two night’s deposit is due to secure your reservation. Deposits are nonrefundable. A valid Visa, Master Card or American Express card is required to secure your reservation.; Long-term rentals are for a period of over one month. One week’s deposit is due to secure your reservation. Deposits are nonrefundable. A valid Visa, Master Card or American Express card is required to secure your reservation.; The remaining balance for your rental period is due one month prior to arrival date. We will automatically charge your credit card or upon approval, the remaining balance can be paid by Pay Pal, wire transfer or bank-by-mail to our US back account.

Restrictions: We are unable to accommodate pets at this time.; Smoking is not allowed inside the suites. Ashtrays will be provided for smoking outside your suite.; The suites will not be rented to anyone under 25 years of age. The Bird of Paradise suite sleeps 4. The Bougainvillea Suite sleeps 2. The number of guests shall not exceed these numbers without authorization from the property manager.; We can accommodate families or small groups by renting both suites.; Arrangements must be made in advance for visitors to be entertained on the premises in the event of a small get-together around the pool, etc. If we conclude the property is being used in an inappropriate manner, we reserve the right to expel the entire party with no refund.

Cancellations: The reason for cancellation is solely an issue for the booking party. Casa Murguia cannot be held liable for any circumstances which do not allow for arrival and use of reserved accommodations.; Payment is for the original length of the reservation. If any reservation changes occur, i.e. arriving later or leaving earlier than booked, there will be no refund or credit issued.; If a no-show occurs, your credit card will be charged the full amount of the reserved days.

Payments: Final and full payment will be charged one month prior to arrival to the credit card originally provided.; All deposits are nonrefundable. If you cancel your reservation, you will receive no refund on previous deposits.

Other Fees: There is a $100 USD fee for all late payments that arrive beyond the scheduled payment dates.; There is a $200 USD damage and loss deposit. This will be refunded in full if no damage or loss is found after inspection of your rental suite and the property area.; Any unusual cleaning charges, such as cleaning rugs, upholstery, and/or furnishings will be passed on to you and taken from the damage and loss deposit.; A refundable $50 USD deposit will be charged for the local-use cell phone. Also, all internet roaming charges will be paid by guest.; There is a $10 USD charge for duplicate keys and letting you back in your suite.

Amenities: 5 minute walk from the Zocalo & Santo Domingo; Swimming pool with tropical garden patio; Private outdoor living area; Completely furnished with comfortable living /dining areas; Kitchen with stove, refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, blender, coffee machine, cooking utensils & dishes; Bed linens and pool, bath, & kitchen towels are also provided; Bird of Paradise Suite includes Master Bedroom with King-size bed & two day beds in living room; Bougainvillea Suite is our Studio Apartment with two individual day beds; Full bathroom with mosaic tiles; Screened windows; Use of local-service cell phone; Wireless Internet Connection; Cable Television; Safety deposit box in each suite; Maid service: light housekeeping daily, change sheets/towels weekly; Laundry Service for our guests is available at an additional fee; Water, electric, sewer & garbage included; Handicap Accessible

Communication: A local-use only cell phone will be available during your stay. Phone cards can be purchased locally at various outlets. A refundable $50 US dollar deposit will be charged for the use of the cell phone.; Wireless internet service is available for your use. Laptops and roaming charges are the responsibility of the guest.; Local and cable television is available for your use.; If you need to leave an emergency contact number with your family, please use our contact phone number at 1-310-xxx-xxxx.

Pool Rules: Residents and their visitors use the pool at their own risk. Anyone using the swimming pool must sign our Pool Liability Addendum before entering the pool.; There is no lifeguard on duty and anyone under the age of 14 years shall be accompanied by an adult at all times in the pool area.; No one with a communicable disease, open wounds, bandages, or other dressings may use the pool.; Only plastic containers are permitted in the pool area for safety reasons.; No nude or partial nude swimming or sunbathing in the pool or pool area.; There are no time restrictions for swimming; however, please be aware of other residents and keep the noise level very low if you are swimming after 10:00 pm or before 8:00 am.; Use of radios/stereos in the pool area should be kept at a low level when other residents are on the premises.; No running, diving, or “horseplay” is permitted in or around the pool. Such conduct shall result in the revocation of the resident’s rights to use the pool.; Infants in diapers must wear a snug-fitting, waterproof outer garment.; All long hair must be secured close to the head while swimming.
